(I like RUBICON though - it's not a commonly used word (a bit like Harbingers in that repect) but its meaning -
cross or pass the Rubicon, to take a decisive, irrevocable step: Our entry into the war made us cross the Rubicon and abandon isolationism forever.
- says all that needs to be said. I think, anyway :p)
