Crimson King Wrote:I support Death Blow for the Seinfeld reference. Penumbra is a great name because it reminds me of this amazing psychological horror game for PC.

PENUMBRA started as a bit of wordplay, as the penultimate RJ story preceding NIGHTWORLD.
Other related titles that ran through my mind were PENULTIMATUM and PRECURSORS (but that sounded too much like a synonym for HARBINGERS).

There are so many possible titles here, good luck to The Man and his publishers picking one from here.

But, I'm partial to Deception. Big Grin
...an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle.

The Ouroboros often represents self-reflexivity or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end (compare Phoenix). It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations, where it symbolizes the circular nature of the alchemist's opus. It is also often associated with Gnosticism, and Hermeticism.

Carl Jung interpreted the Ouroboros as having an archetypal significance to the human psyche. The Jungian psychologist Erich Neumann writes of it as a representation of the pre-ego "dawn state", depicting the undifferentiated infancy experience of both mankind and the individual child.
Inspired by this: Pondering Ouroboros.

And that's it for me. That's the best I can do. Maybe. Probably. *sigh*

Back when I was reading up on storms I remember something about "hurricanes" and "typhoons" literally being translated into the motion of the snake. And of course the "Ouroboras" looks like a hurricane. So it could also have the interpretation of major destruction.

On the same note, whenever I've seen the symbol of the snake swallowing it's tail, I always want to say "kiss your A$$ goodbye". It seems to be the exact opposite of infinity.

Man, we're missin' the Death Blow!

....

Edge of Night - Yeah, OK, that was a soap opera.

Edge of Darkness

Cthulhu Fhtagn! - Oops, wrong mythos and the stars aren't quite right yet in this one anyway.

Everything else I think of that someone else hasn't suggested already sounds like a bad Steven Seagal movie.

Thanks to that "series" of "books," Eclipse is probably off-limits.

I like Ouroboros, but I can't see it tying into the summary. It's really a great name though because it's so unique.

Yeah, I think author Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and the Count Saint-Germaine have a lock on that one. Smile

Had a few ideas for the title. Fairly certain these weren't mentioned (read all the other posts, some good stuff definitely)

Event Horizon
(Its the edge of a black hole where escape becomes impossible, kind of like the worlds fate)

Destinies

Unplugged (cheesy, but...)

Child of the Enemy

The Lady's Champion or Champion

Fate's Web (Heck, glue it to Destinies for Destinys Web. Your book.)
