Irishkkc 2.0 Wrote:5 is added. The reason that was not on the list was because I just considered it a given. But i think there is an exception to the rule. Yeah Jeremy Renner is in his late thirties but to me the guy doesn't look it. He looks like he is in his early thirties. In '95, he was 24 and played a high school senior. Either way I do agree with you on the conditions and the addition on the 5th. I'll write up the paperwork.
Yes, makeup (and special effects) can take years off an actor...that being said, my choice is still Sam Worthington...that way, if he begins to look too old for Nightworld, he can still act the role and his "Jack" avatar-face can be inserted, instead of his actual 49 year old face.

If he's unavailable, Jeremy Renner would be a good choice...as long as he can keep his baby-face. Renner always reminds me of Ron Howard, who could pass for 17 when he was in his 30s.

Axioms Jack seems to live by (inadvertantly or not):

Why he does what he does: "I chose this life. I know what I'm doing. And on any given day, I could stop doing it. Today, however, isn't that day. And tomorrow won't be either." Bruce Wayne, Identity Crisis

On Rasalom: "Water's wet, the sky is blue...and good old Satan Claus, Jimmy...he's out there...and he's just gettin' stronger." Joe Hallenbeck, The Last Boyscout

My thought is that either Jeremy Renner or Sam Worthington would be excellent choices. Jeremy Renner would be better than Worthington because of his slightly craggy features. Worthington is still just a bit too handsome.

Craggy isn't the right word, but rugged didn't quite fit either. Plain?

(New poster, but have read the books since the original "Tomb" release)
My thoughts on who would play Jack, have bounced quite a bit. And after reading the thread, I would say at this point .. Sam Worthington & Matt Damon are too intense in their facial expressions. And I'm sorry, if Ryan Reynolds was selected, I would have to hunt him down beat him with a large stick. he's too smarmy, and too thin (in my opinion). Jack should be tightly built, but needs upper body strength.

Jeremy Renner would be my current ideal choice. Jack need to be unassuming, and visually easily deemed to be not a threat at first glance. He has the build that I always pictured as well, and can throw out a very expressive range of emotions.
anyway, that my 2 cents on it.

Personally, I think that Brad Pitt would be great in the role. He can play serious very well, but also have that fun and fairly eccentric side. Also, he's pretty darn nondescript!

How about Andy Whitfield. He play the lead in the series, Spartacus Blood and Sand. I like that show, and think he displays a wide range of emotions there too, including brooding, goofyness, and rage.I checked tho and couldnt find out how old he was, maybe one of you can.....also solemnity...thats my 2 cents. for now. Still rooting for Sam Worthington though.

ghaleon..What is it you can see that I do not??For where you can see hope and a future, I see only despair!

"A man slowly battered into despair and hopelessness...thats a delicacy..In your case it may even approach ecstasy. I dont want to deprive myself of that"..Rasalom

"Some people dont want anything practical, like money. Some men just want to watch the world Burn"

"We spit on your tests"!!!

Hello all this is my 1st post on here. I've just finished By The Sword and am eagerly awaiting Ground Zero from my book club.

Andy Whitfield is too good looking. Ryan Reynolds is too annoying. Out of the choices so far I like the look of Trevor Matthews, especially in this picture: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4110913536/nm2033655.

I'll try and think of someone to nominate myself but for the time being TM has my vote :-)

OK after Googling for a bit I've come up with a personal list of who I like the look of for Repairman Jack. In no particular order:

Jesse Metcalfe - Desperate Housewives
Jensen Ackles - Supernatural; My Bloody Valentine
Penn Badgley - Drive Thru; The Stepfather
Lucas Black - Sling Blade; The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Channing Tatum - Coach Carter; Public Enemies
Barry Watson - Samantha Who?; 7th Heaven

Also I found a handy search tool within imdb.com...

I think he would be good. I've only seen him in the Jack Brooks movie. I was thinking about Repairman Jack when I bought that movie.
