I just watched this Christian Bale thriller/action/adventure again for the first time in a few years and it STILL kicks ass!!!

It may be one of the best of the genre but got lost because it came out around the same time as The Matrix.

If you have not seen Equilibrium do yourself a solid and rent it.

Never saw it. I'll have to check it out.

I'll second the recommendation. It's been a while since I've seen it also, but I remember a lot of it and walked away from it feeling satisfied. That's more than I can say for most of the movies I've seen lately.

Isn't that the movie about the future...where emotions have been outlawed?
If that's the one I'm thinking about...it's worthy of renting.

The gun-kata scene near the end is mind blowing.

I agree, Tony. Equilibrium was great action film. Better than The Matrix.

(Japanese title was "Rebellion". Don't ask me why....)

That's the one. For being a film about emotions being outlawed the film stirs quite a bit of emotion. Sorrow, anger, joy...amazing film that gave me goosebumps many times throughout its runtime.

One of my favorite fight scenes of all time. I love when Christian Bale is captured and is seated before the hologram of the "Big Brother" figure and the hologram says, and this is a loose quote mind you as I forget the exact verbiage...."and here you are, giving yourself entirely without incident." Then Christian bale calmly replies "No, not entirely without incident..." And then all hell breaks loose.

WOOT!
