I remember back in 2006, when I first joined the board, there was a writing contest on the board and the winner's story would make it into a RJ novel and the winner also won some money (I think, could be wrong about the last point).

IIRC, NewYorkjoe won with his SAWish style write-up about Jack waking up in some sort of straight-jacket and having to get out IOT rescue Gia and Vicky.

The last thing I remember reading about the topic was a post by another board member (no idea who it was) asking if this was the same NewYorkjoe that was thanked in one of the previous RJ novels and whether or not his winning was "fair".

Now I've only read up to Infernal, so no idea if this was ever incorporated into the later RJ works, but I was just curious about it. Whatever happened with this contest? And did the story ever get written by FPW?

Joe won some money, but no way did Wilson ever consider using it in the story. It was more of a tribute kind of thing I believe.

I recommend pleasant.

After all, everyone died except for Sig, Fenny & Cobalt.
