It escaped notice in theaters, but it's a gem. It's about Leslie Vernon, a serial/spree killer in the same vein as Meyers, Voorhees and Krueger who has allowed a trio of college students film a documentary about him as he prepares for his next 'job'. He explains away many of the mysteries behind these kinds of killers, including how he is seemingly able to walk and keep up with running teens (you wouldn't believe how much cardio I have to do, he says or something like). Leslie is personable, friendly and has a good sense of humor, but when he turns on he is an unforgiving killing machine. That's all I'll say except that this movie really injects some new blood into an old genre. Pick it up at your local video store or throw it into your queue because if you enjoy horror, with a little dash of comedy, this is right up your alley.
They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.
