Rent this movie. Immediately.

It escaped notice in theaters, but it's a gem. It's about Leslie Vernon, a serial/spree killer in the same vein as Meyers, Voorhees and Krueger who has allowed a trio of college students film a documentary about him as he prepares for his next 'job'. He explains away many of the mysteries behind these kinds of killers, including how he is seemingly able to walk and keep up with running teens (you wouldn't believe how much cardio I have to do, he says or something like). Leslie is personable, friendly and has a good sense of humor, but when he turns on he is an unforgiving killing machine. That's all I'll say except that this movie really injects some new blood into an old genre. Pick it up at your local video store or throw it into your queue because if you enjoy horror, with a little dash of comedy, this is right up your alley.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

Watched this a few nights ago and I loved it! I don't hesitate to call this one a sleeper.

Behind the Mask was a surprisingly good movie. My only gripe is the ending. I know they set it up and followed formula, but for a movie who spent the first 3/4ths of the plot skewering cliche I would have liked to see it play out differently. Still a great flick.

Yeah, something "original" would've been nice. But the whole movie dealt with the need for cliches as necessary steps in order for him to become a legend. So, had the ending not been cliche it may have ruined everything. Not to mention it sets up a sequel.

I rented this movie because of the great recomendations here.

But it really wasnt that good of a movie. I'll give it credit to being original. It was origianl. Maybe it was the 'B' acting?

Also recommended to me was THE LOOKOUT which I rented at the same time. Now that movie was worth the recommendation.

When I finished watching this movie I was really disappointed in it.
But now that its a memory I think back to it and it has become better with age.

So it was a good recommendation after all Smile

I thought that The Lookout was one of the most disappointing films I've seen all year. Sad

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."
