Every time I pick up a new RJ, I wonder whether I'll remember all that went before. But mostly, I don't have to, because FPW is so good at putting in reminders of recent events in extremely subtle ways. Thanks, FPW!

The present state of the world is not the proof of philosophy’s impotence, but the proof of philosophy’s power. It is philosophy that has brought men to this state—it is only philosophy that can lead them out.

That's a great point, DW. I also enjoy the way past events are woven into the books so seamlessly.

I agree!

With some of the series I read the narrator in my head starts saying, "blah, blah, blah, let's move along" when I get to the passages reviewing events from previous books or describing the main characters. Never happens with FPW though.

That is so true....it's because the Man can write. Just finish a book and I'm "Jonesing" for more.
