ToD is so completely over the top as to be utterly ridiculous.
- the falling raft
- the mining car ride
- the feast of the disgusting creatures
If that's not enough for you, add in a whiney Cate Capshaw and an annoying [Short Round]. And an uninteresting quest with overly dramatic/unfitting human sacrifice.

Yeah, as a friend puts it - Ghostbusters to (almost) makes you doubt how good the original actually is.
Quote:Another series that started to drop off dramatically after the first film: Alien/Aliens. The first two: incredible. The next two: disappointing.
I love ALIEN, but have never been overly fond of ALIENS (it's good, but not "best movie ever" that I've seen reviewed in some places ... or even close). The best thing to come from ALIENS is Near Dark.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.
