Anything by Greg Hurwitz, especially the Rackley series.

Anything by JA Konrath.

Under the Beetle's Celler by Mary Willis Walker

If you are into medical thrillers, Michael Palmer does a fantastic job.

The Cobra Event by Richard Preston

Scott Miller Wrote:Steven Spruill is a similar writer to FPW-he has written horror, SF, and medical thrillers. For horror I'd go with his hemophage trilogy: Rulers of Darkness, Daughter of Darkness and Lord of Light or Sleeper which he wrote under the pseudonym of Steve Harriman.
I'm gonna have to disagree here. These weren't bad, but eventually I came to regard the idea of a hemophage (as presented) as more unbelievable than an actual VAMPIRE. LOL

Quote:Ray Garton is another: Live Girls,
Seconded.

Quote:John Skipp and Craig Specter have a couple of excellent books: The Light At The End (just for you Jimbo) and Animals.
Thanks, buddy. I still need to read Animals.

Big HUGE second of this recommendation. AND Joe is a fellow board member .... And generally great guy!

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Not sure what were disagreeing about but you're entitled to be wrong and usually are. Maggers recommended that I get a little edgier so how you like me now punk.

Anyone else feeling uppity cause there's plenty more where that came from.

As you should be. I'm looking to stir up an internet rumble and don't care much who gets hurt.

You'd think that Killing people would make them like you, but it doesn't! it just makes people dead.
