My 8 year old dragged me to Bee Movie today.
Save the cash.

Much like Happy Feet this flick is a poorly disguised eco-armageddon style movie.

And while I've been saying for a few years now that the slick little one liners and double entendres that pop up from time to time in these "childrens movies" are pushing the edge, a few lines from Bee went right over it- particularly one about how the white man is keeping us down- and the POV turns to a panel of coprporate suits, three of which are white, one is black and he pushes his seat away from them. I can't beleive that made it into a kids flick.
there's an entire quasi-sexual relationship also between the bee and the florist that I found mildly disturbing.

she laughed- and I did too, once in a while. I wont be buying this one for her.

I fell asleep during this terrible movie. I mean I deliberately leaned back, closed my eyes, and nodded off. I awoke as Patrick Warburton (alias The Tick, I b-lieve) was shouting about the bee and his ex-girlfriend sharing the same work space. I agree that the sexual tension between the human and the bee was overplayed, as was the "worker" bee notion.

With the recent crop of "children's films" out there (Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, Chicken Little, etc.), I see no recent to spend $20 plus bucks to see this Seinfeld episode wannabee.

P.S. Yes, I said it: wannaBEE.

Instead of animation film, I think live film would be good. In the trailer, Jerry Seinfeld who wear bee's costume...that was funny! Big Grin

You didn't like Happy Feet? Okay, I didn't either, except for the crazy chicano penguins. They were the coolest guys.
