I remember the night the four lads were on Ed's show-first run!

Any other Brits have fond memories of The Tube

Broadcast live every Friday night from Newcastle they had some fine live perfomances by the biggest names in music from the 80's

They were one of the first shows to showcase U2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSLjlRYP5hM, they had Madonna's first UK live(ish) performance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkHW7Sy1ZV0(before anyone over here knew who she was). They discovered Frankie Goes to Holywood (maybe not a classic - but certainly a huge icon of the 80's) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18eQIrBT0UI

Hosted by Jools Holland (pianist from the Squeeze) & Paula Yates (the future Mrs Bob Geldof & lover of Michael Hutchence (INXS))

After 5 series the show was cancelled, but will be fondly remembered by many 30 - 40 year old brits

Paul would really appreciate this.
I just watched a dupey 16mm show called "SHINDIG" hosted by The Beach Boys with 7up commercials. "Shindig" was a very popular show in the 1960's showcasing some well known bands inc. Mowtown artists.
Then watched a beautiful 16 of IRON BUTTERFLY doing thier most famous number (whata birthday present!).
