I'm attempting to watch a season of something and I decided upon Reaper, mainly because Ray Wise portrays the Devil. With DVR capabilities I can watch it at my leisure and jet through the commercials(the iPod Nano ad is already ruining that catchy "1234" song by Feist that Auskar posted on the Funny Youtube thread with its incessant airing).

Anyway this morning I watched episode one and it reminded me of why I don't watch TV anymore. Not that it was so bad but rather how good it could be without the restraints that the medium forces upon its shows. The cast is watchable, if not all that original, and the premise has promise. I hope this show can get a little edgier with the demons and spend less time on comedy. I do intend to give it a full season to see if it delivers the goods.

Isn't that a BBC show or something? I think I saw a commercial for it. I think it's on BBC America here. I don't know if I get that channel.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

I believe it is on the CW officially. It bummed me out because my dish network doesn't have the CW, but I found it on WGN, or maybe KWGN-channel 235 on my dish(I have no idea if Dish Network channels are universal) Tuedays at 8:00 msn(10:00 in your neighborhood).

I was talking to Aphew about this earlier today. He has an actual CW channel but I don't with Comcast here in Chicago. CW is broadcast on WGN. While CW airs the new episodes Tues. at 8pm CST we don't get them until Wed. morning at 1am with repeats Thurs. or Fri.

I watched it when it was called "Brimstone"

Reaper is a new American show not a BBC show. Basically, it's a comedy. It sucks. The devil guy is pretty cool, though.

Brimstone could have actually been a good television show. Something was just a little too wrong with it. Like it took too long to tell a story. Too much angst, not enough action.

OK, I saw Reaper last night. I thought it was decent. And it did make me think of Brimstone, though I couldn't remember the name.

I can't remember the BBC show I was thinking of but in the preview I remember a demon grabbing someone and looking like it was about to bite the dude's head off.

Despite its apparent similarities to Brimstone and it sucks, I find myself enjoying it more with each episode. Ray Wise is great as Satan and the rest of the cast is solid if not terrific. I still wish the demons were a bit nastier, but overall I'd recommend it.

I find this show to be one of the better ones on TV now. I love the humor. It's not about the demons, though. It's about going through life knowing your parents sold your soul to the devil.

You're right, the show is definitely more about laughs and it is quite funny, but I want my to eat my cake too.
