Anyone else?

Yojimbo is one of the all time GREAT movies. It was remade as a western, A Fistful of Dollars. So in a way Yojimbo started Clint Eastwood's career, his "Man w/ No Name" is the western version of Yojimbo. It was also remade/reimagined as a depression era gangster film w/ Bruce Willis, Last Man Standing. While that one is good Yojimbo & Fistfull of $ have stood the test of time.
Toshiro Mifune has a long list of Japanese films that inspired American remake's re-imaginings. To name a few:
Hidden Fortress- The plot was used for Star Wars, George Lucas has acknowledged and given it credit.
Seven Samurai- Magnificent Seven -
Yojimbo- Fistful of Dollars
High and Low - Ransom (based on an 87th precinct novel by Ed McBain)
Zatoichi - Blind Fury
Red Sun - Shanghai Noon
Hell in the Pacific- Enemy Mine
Those are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head. All all worth seeing, especially if you've liked the remakes.
And to just to tie it into FPW's writing he's also played Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto who appears in Black Wind.
