How about "Wilson" or maybe "Tiberius?"

Thanks for the responses.

Here are the family names we have considered. (all FPW are from this site's suggestions)

Jack Orme Anderson (wife's maiden name)
Jack Lyman Anderson (grandfather)
Jack Evan Anderson (purely random)
Jack Wilson Anderson (FPW)
Jack Thomas Anderson (FPW)
Jack Abraham Anderson (FPW)
Jack Francis Anderson (FPW) but I don't particularly like this one.

Keep them coming. Now if I can have this baby without disclosing it to the government, avoid a social security card, train him as a detective of sorts, and find some rakoshi to battle his life will be complete.

I haven't read through the entire thread yet so someone may have suggested this, but I recommend you find a middle name that honors a male figure in your family be it your father, your wifes father, a grandfather, brother, etc. That would be nice.

LOL

I think John Thomas would be a great name - does this mean the same in the US I wonder?

Mind you that is from someone who called is daughter Charlotte Anne

Obviously Dave would be a great name - I second that!

Ken Valentine Wrote:Generally speaking, Jack is a nickname for John. If you're actually going to name him Jack, that's fine. Jack Collins (as well as John Collins) has a nice ring to it.

This may not be what you're thinking of, but a suitable middle name might be Paul -- after F. Paul. Jack Paul Collins doesn't sound right, but John Paul Collins has a nice flow to it.

On the other hand, he doesn't HAVE to have a middle name.

On the third hand (third hand?) what about naming him after a relative?

Guess I'm not much help.

My father didn't have a middle name. I knew a kid in college who told us his name was "Donald Nmn Wong". He showed us his New York (?) license: NMN stands for "no middle name". We beat him senseless. Rolleyes

I had a friend in high school who didn't have either a middle or a first name. His parents gave him initials instead.

When he went into the Navy, he was registered as J-only D-only Van Der _____. He got quite a ribbing because of that. I gather all the guys called him Jonly Donly.

I just went to wikipedia for John Thomas, although I don't plan on going to the UK any time soon, I do want my son to have that opportunity. I think Jack Thomas is out.

I had a client called

Phil Kettle

Someone eventually pointed out that his parents really should have thought his name through before they chose Phillip.
