Starring:Samuel L. Jackson, Julianne Moore, and Ron Eldard....Freedomland had good casts, but story was terrible. Especially, I was very tired at last sequences. 112 min was too long.

Save your money and time. I'm glad I had coupon ticket. At least I saved my money, but I wasted 112 min....

I haven't seen the movie "Freedomland," but I did read the book. The book was overly long; I had to slog through it and it felt like hard work. Given the lukewarm and/or bad reviews the movie received, I figured I'd skip it. I hear Julianne Moore is really rotten in it.

I wish poor Ron Eldard would find a good vehicle. He's talented but seems to wind up in these lousy movies.

Reading is freedom.

no limitations.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Julianne Moore was good. Her acting always grab my heart. One problem was story/plot/concept. And I couldn't understand her motive, why she did it.

I just happened on "Freedomland" on a cable channel and gave it a watch.

"Freedomland" is one of those movies that has about 4 endings, but never ends. Each time an action happens that you think will close the film, it doesn't. The movie goes on until another action happens that you think will close the film, and, again, it doesn't. That happened about 3 or 4 times. Makes any film seem very long.

The racial unrest was not portrayed on film as well as it was written in the book. Too bad.

Why Moore's character behaved as she did is not clear, except perhaps that she seemed out of her mind from the get go and didn't have a clear thought in her head throughout the movie. She was written as an unlikable character and Moore's portrayal didn't add anything for us to grasp onto. It was much the same in the book. I didn't care for Moore's performance; I actually found her hard to watch.

I'd give the movie a thumbs down.
