From a MySpace blog:
Novel Acquired for Adaptation
RPM Films has acquired the adaptation rights to the novel SIBS by New York Times Bestselling Author F. Paul Wilson. The script will be co-written by Wilson and writer/director Marc Buhmann.

RPM Films has previously produced Dead in the Water, also directed by Buhmann, a horror comedy recently acquired by Indican Pictures for North American distribution.

SIBS tells the story of Kara Wade and her investigation into why her twin sister Kelly died. There's no secret as to the cause of Kelly's death – a nearly-nude twelve-story plunge from a room at a hotel – but Kelly is determined to learn what led to that plunge. Enlisting the help of her ex-boyfriend, now a Chicago detective, Kara will be plunged into a world of sex and madness as she moves closer to the truth.

The supernatural thriller is currently in development with production slated to begin later this year.

You have a lot on your plate! Aren't you also trying to develop DITW and that other movie (I forget the name)? Will all three be full-length?

Well what you need to do is completely scrap the ideas from the book and borrow only its title. I'm holding my breath because I know you would handle the film in as faithful way as possible. This is exciting news and which you luck in securing the financing.

Is it gonna be on Cinemax After Dark?

Seriously, though, that's a LOT of sex and nudity to get past studio execs for distribution. How are you going to handle that? Or is it too early to ask?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

We have the first draft done of Dead in the Water: The Rising but right now it sort of depends on how well the first film sells. The other film you mentioned is Magic 8 but we're waiting on the re-writes of the script which is going slower than expected. The writer has been busy with his day job so I don't see that happening this year unfortunately.

Actually, the screenplay is very faithful to the novel. It helped having Paul offer suggestions and re-write some of it. Now all we need is one of the entertainment financers we've approached to greenlight it.

It's been slightly toned down (but not removed) and I think if it's shot creatively and artistically we should be okay.

Marc, wowee, congratulations! You are turning into a shooting star (pun intended). I'm so proud of you; I think I can say we all are.

Good luck on the financing, and how wonderful to get to work with FPW.

I recommend pleasant.
