Today, after I saw Casino Royale, I had spare time. So I saw "Charlotte's Web". And, it was......wow! What a nice movie! It reminded me of "Babe". But "Charlotte's Web" was better than "babe". At first, I thought this is the movie for kids. But I was wrong. I really enjoyed it, and I had some surprising moments. Robert Redford as horse's voice....? I've never seen he played in family/fantasy movie as voice of animal. And Steve Buscemi as rat was also hilarious.

I highly recommend it to you and your kids. But even if you haven't kids, I recommend it to you. This is a fun movie.

Warning to those with fear of spiders. Charlotte has to be one of the creepiest "talking" spiders I've ever seen (resembles a Brown Recluse with a big butt). And her egg sac..., well, the best left said, the better. Ditto when the sac opens. Shivers.

I thought Charlotte was very beautiful. Her hairy legs, her big butt, and.....I know I'm weirdo! :p But like Bo Bridges said, spider's web is miracle.

I thought the movie was exceptional. It was funny, heartwarming and sad-it involved me on emotional levels that few films are able to do. I recommend it for everyone but Cos.

As a bit of an arachnophobe, I was a bit leery of the warnings given here and I agree she was creepy. However, I thought it important that she looked that way because the central theme of the movie is to not judge the book by its cover.

It made me think of Old Yeller and how sad I was when I first saw it; I must have been 5 or 6 at the time. I also saw Born Free around the same age and bawled at both, yet I'm hesitant to show my own kids because they are so heartwrenching. I frequently quiz the middle school students I see and very few of them have seen either. I wonder if we are doing them a disservice by purposely not showing them to spare their feelings; maybe it would help them to develop a sense of empathy.

Watch "Where the Red Fern Grows" if you haven't. Keep the tissues handy though. It's like Old Yeller times 10! The book is horribly sad too.

That's definitely a tearjerker as well. My Dog Skip, besides Charlotte's Web, is the only 'kid' movie of recent vintage that I can think of that dares to be sad. I have heard that The Bridge To Terabithia falls into this territory.

Now Scott, there is no fun in being introspective. Not when the world around me is filled with so many interesting characters. No sir, the real thought-provoking stuff happens around us, not to us. (How was that for deep? You might want to get out them boots.) Now for some reason the board said my respose is too short so I am adding more characters.
