The Mad American Wrote:Possible very minor spoilers below:
Caesar with the Statue of Liberty.
The mounted police with the numbers on their helmets on the bridge, (the corn field sequence of the original).
The fire hose scene with Caesar in the animal shelter.
The circus orangutan was named Maurice, the actor who played Dr. Zauis was Maurice Evans in the original.
The nice, weakling keeper at the shelter was named Rodney, Rodney "Roddy" McDowell was a huge player in the original series.
"It's a madhouse! A madhouse!" was another line along with the dirty ape line from Hestons character in the original.
And "No" being the first word is also connected to the original storyline/series.
Told you I was a fanboy.
There are more but I will rein in my geekyness. For now.
I caught almost all of these along with the ones Tony mentioned already with the exception of:
Dodge Landon - I knew the orginal male astronauts that were with Taylor were named Dodge and Landon but I never caught that Malfoy's character was named Dodge Landon. I don't remember hearing either his or his dad's name at all.
Rodney - I never caught the weaker / nicer dude's name at the shelter either.
The mounted police / cornfield reference. I had a passing thought when Ceasar was on the horse about the apes riding horses in the original series but that was it.
Your "No" reference I believe was discussed in the 3rd movie (Escape). I think Cornelius was describing what started the whole thing. Either that or it was discussed in the 4th movie (Conquest). But I am going with the 3rd.
Please don't stop your geekyness yet. What are the other references?
