Anyone else geeked for this movie? The last Planet of the Apes remake was a horrible, silly mess but this looks awesome.

I hope the movie lives up to the original and lives up to the preview.

Yep, Andy Serkis. He has apparently been typecast as "the creature guy".Wink

Well, him and Doug Jones.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

This actually looks really good. I had always wondered how long the astronauts had been in space for an uprising like the planet of the apes. It would have taken many many tens of thousands of years. (If not longer) This actually looks like it puts it in a time scale that is at least believable. In fact, this makes me want to watch them again. (an urge I've not had with that series)

I actually didn't really like the Markie Mark version so I'm interested in seeing this one.

I hated that version. But this version, it really looks good to me. If you have seen the original, it wasn't as dramatic and big hollywood as this one seems to be but I think the look and character of Caeser is so much more interesting. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I actually had to look up who Doug Jones was. But yeah, him too.

I love the original, I don't think this will hold a candle to it as far as groundbreaking sci-fi films go, having said that, it does look good, almost like a horror movie, that scene with the apes in the trees.

You know, the Marky Mark one while it is no where near even the sequels to the original, I thought it was ok, that is until the strange convoluted ending that just really didn't make sense.

I, actually like Tim Burton's version(I know, I know.......). But at the ending it all messed up.

As for this new movie, I thought this is remake of "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes". Isn't it?
