I think he meant the trailer, not the whole movie. It's pretty common knowledge now, I think, that Topher Grace is playing Venom in Spider-man 3. But he doesn't seem to show up anywhere in the new trailer.

That's the thing that scared me when watching this trailer - too many characters. The writers & director have done a good job on the first two, but I fear they're going the way of Batman (4? 5?) where there were 3 heroes and 4 villians and it, well, sucked. The struggle with MJ, Sandman, Venom, GreenGoblinII ... I hope it's not too much.

I'm starting to think there won't be a Venom, maybe Eddie Brock picks the symbiote at the end of the movie and we might catch a glimpse of Venom but he doesn't seem to be part of this delivery, at least it's what I'm feeling. I do hope I'm worng and we get a considerable chunk of Venom i the movie. One way or the other, still can't wait to see it

There's a leaked shot of Venom online now. It's supposedly from an unfinished trailer. There are links to it in the "talk back" section on aintitcool.com, assuming they haven't been removed by now. It's only a glimpse, but he looks nasty!
As to how much screen time Venom will get, I can't say. You could be right, and they might be setting up another sequel.

Blake, are you a Spidey scholar? I've got a vague memory of the Webster fighting the Hulk. Mismatch, right? But didn't Spidey say, "I did it! I KO'ed the Hulk...and I also broke my right hand..." Was that a Venom story? Or am I getting things all confused? (But I did buy Spidey #1...along with FF 1, Hulk 1, X-Men 1, Iron Man 1...aw, jeez, why didn't I keep that good shit?
