I read a review. This is an excerpt:

"Midnight Mass most resembles a high school play, one staged by the Goth kids and Marilyn Manson fans who usually get blamed for high school shootings and the like."

As far as I know, the movie has nothing to do with FPW's book. A coincidence of titles, is all.

Actually, the movie is based on the novella version of Midnight Mass, if memory serves. And FPW makes an appearance in the movie. I haven't seen it, though, so I can't comment on the quality of the film.

Actually it is a fairly faithful adaptation of the Good Friday novella, which is one of three cobbled together to complete the Midnight Mass novel. That said, the review is fairly accurate; the movie just isn't very good(I didn't make it to the end).

I got it on eBay cheap, but it's not very good.

Well, it was Tony's first attempt at making a movie. His expertise lay in special effects makeup.

Compared to your regular theatrical movie releases, it wasn't very good at all, but for a first attempt, I thought it was quite good.

We all have to start somewhere.

Ken V. is kind in reminding us we all have to start somewhere. But Dave, I could not watch it. I think Paul's said, the ideas were good, but there was no budget for professional actors. Paul is kind too. In fact, he was the best thing in the film. He was a corpse.

Yeah I love the book, and thought it would translate well into a movie

But I guess I'll save my money based on the posts here

Many thanks
