I'm about half way through Gateways and something occurred to me that I need the answer to. Now I suspect that the identity of the woman (women) with the dog(s) who keeps warning Jack will one day be revealed. At least I hope so. But without spoiling the rest of the series for me can someone tell me if Anya, the Indian woman and the Russian woman are the same person/entity?

I just gotta know.

Well, each of them seems to know everything that any of them knows, and they all claim to be Jack's mother, so it seems very likely they are all avatars of the same entity. But, we haven't been told this explicitly yet. Maybe FPW is keeping revelations up his sleeve for later, or maybe he'll just let it keep riding on the implications as something beyond full understanding by mere humans.

I thought of them as, they themselves are their own persons, as they all seem to have their own personalities and such, but they are connected and share thoughts and power with, like Brett said, a singular entity.

Avatars of the one unified force she represents, but each also individual in their own right.

*Points* What tenebroust said... says it better than I was trying to explain it. XD

That sounds almost a little too much like the virus in Hosts, with the exception being that they aren't trying to "infect" everyone.

Ironically I posted my question just before I got to the part in the book where Anya reveals that she and the other ladies ARE connected.

I have just finished reading Gateway's & Host's and it does seem that the women are inexetricably linked to one another and to Jack. Of the novels that I have read so far(out of order) there has been no direct answer. Where in Host's does Sal Roma appear? In both Gateway's & The Haunted Air reference's are made about Jack meeting him. In skimming back through the novel I can't find where he appeared and what he had to say. Refresher please someone? Thanks.

It was in CONSPIRACIES, not HOSTS.
