That's so well-mannered of you. I, for one, appreciate it. In fact, I appreciate the sparse use of such language on this board in general.

Not that I'm easily offended; the occasional f-bomb or whatever doesn't disturb me in the least. I just think that excessive use of "bad" language shows a lack of vocabulary. Smile

I have been thinking the yenicari pronounced like the Yeni-SAIR-ee (or adding more of a 'sh' part), mostly due to when Abe stated about it being possibly rooted from (correct me if I'm wrong please) janissary or something in like. I assumed due to that root for it it would have the straight 's' sound.

To-Live is the way I've always thought of it.

This reminds me of the time I was reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy years ago, and my wife asked me how I pronounced Saruman.

I answered, "SA-roo-mon."

She said, "Oh. I know it's spelled differently, but I always thought of it as 'Cerumen.'" Big Grin

Thanks Paul. I've always been meaning to ask you that.

You show good taste and manners . . . I agree.

On those rare occasions where I want to make reference, I'll write something like: "He was a real _____________. (Insert favorite proctological referent here.)" Big Grin

So far I don't think I've offended anyone . . . so far.

As we are on the topic of pronunciations.. I kind of have a question about how you think Rasalom should be pronounced. (Like I have said before.. I am a Rasalom fan girl... I'll probably talk about how cool he is or many references to him a lot. He oddly reminds me of a character I created before reading RJ. Well.... at least in evil/sadisticness as my baddie is a bit... erm... "eccentric).

I pronounce it "Rah-z(s)ah-lohm", but I am unsure if this would be correct.
