Page 291 of the new "bargain-priced" edition of The Keep (Tor):

Chapter 25

THE INN
Saturday, 3 May
1020 hours

Right? Okay. Then on page 312, paragraph six...Glenn is talking to Magda:

" 'They're drying out. Dying. And it's only April.' "

Funnily enough, Magda says shortly after this, " 'It's the keep, isn't it?' " Ah, the effects of the Otherness...reaches right out from the book it's introduced in and influences the author (and apparently the editor, too!).

Alright, that's enough snobbery for one night.

"...and your last thought is that you have become a noise...a thin, nameless noise among all these others...howling in the empty dark room"

I think that area of Eastern Europe was still using the Gregorian calender, so the calendar at the Inn would have reftected this. Magda and Glenn were referencing the Julian calendar used in their part of the world.

Yeah, that's the ticket!
