Just before the fatal injection or mad scientist mutation serum can be given, the hero/heroine/damsel knocks the syringe out of the bad guy's hand and it shatters because the syringe was made of glass. This might work in Eastern Europe, but around here where everything is plastic.

How about the action movie where shotgun blasts or high caliber guns have the ability to throw a person across the room with each shot?

To me those movies are like basketball games (in the interest of full disclosure, I'll admit that I'm not a basketball or baseball fan--too slow and not enough violence--it's football and hockey for me). Ten seconds are a lifetime. Enough already!
