I haven't seen the movie since I was a kid, but I don't remember Wolfen being about werewolves. Wasn't it about a pack of wolves in New York City that had super-intelligence and infrared vision? Or something like that?

Yeah you are correct on the movie "Wolfen". It did imply supernatural abilities with the wolves but not really a werewolf movie as it didn't have the transformation between the wolves and man. Although there was a scene when the detective is trying to solve the crime talks to some American Indians and they claim they can shape change and it shows one who goes into a wolf like state...

And the book "wolfen" is absolute crap in my humble opinion. Doesn't resemble the movie much and I just couldn't get past how cumbersome the writing seemed. Ah well thats just me.
