it was between the 2nd to last part of the show and the last part. I think.

Another thing .... Who is Jack's dad's daughter that he was trying to see? Isn't Claire from Australia?

Incidentally, I heard the two actresses were arrested for being under the influence. Hence why their characters were killed off. That is just rumor as far as I know however

I started wondering last night if both acresses were DUI because they just learned they were being written out of the show. The timing seems like it might be about right...

It wouldn't surprise me if Michael did turn. Especially if it the "others" promised that he could be with Walt again. I think he would do anything for that.

I loved that "thumbs-up" that Jin gave Hurley!

From the Channel 13 Website:

Are 'Lost' producers sending message about drunk driving?

(5/04/06 - LOS ANGELES, CA) - Sex, betrayal and bloodshed were the order of a fateful day for the lost souls of "Lost."

With the season drawing to a close this month, "Lost" put several of its airline-crash castaways in the line of fire and proved it hasn't run out of plot twists -- or a willingness to prune its roster.

Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez), the tough and vengeful ex-police officer, was felled by a bullet fired by, of all people, Michael (Harold Perrineau), who returned from an unsuccessful effort to free his kidnapped son, Walt.

"I'm sorry," Michael said, then coolly fired at her. Surprised by another castaway, Libby (Cynthia Watros), Michael shot her as well, then wounded himself.

Ana Lucia may be a goner but we learn that Michael survives. Libby's fate was unclear.

The shootings came as Jack (Matthew Fox) and Locke (Terry O'Quinn), acting on information provided by Michael about the island's mysterious and dangerous "others," prepared to stage an attack and rescue Walt.

The episode also included a tryst between Ana Lucia and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), but it turned out she seduced him just to get his handgun -- which ended up being the weapon Michael used against her.

The apparent death of Ana Lucia was reinforced by comments from two of the show's executive producers to TVGuide.com. The decision to make the character a short-timer was reached early and was unrelated to Rodriguez's drunken-driving case in Hawaii, where the series is filmed, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said.

"A lot of this is going to sound like spin, so all we can give you is our word that this is exactly what happened," Lindelof told TVGuide.com. When Rodriguez auditioned for the role she made it clear she was "sort of a nomadic spirit" and would commit to a limited run, he said.

As befitting the convoluted "Lost," however, there was more to the story.

Another issue was that Watros was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence on the same December night as Rodriguez, but separately.

Rodriguez, 27, was sentenced to jail time and fined $500 after she pleaded guilty last month, serving about 65 hours in an Oahu correctional facility. Watros, 37, was fined and had her license suspended for 90 days after pleading guilty to drunken driving in January.

Lindelof told TVGuide.com that he and Cuse knew that it might seem they were trying to make a point rather than advance the story as intended.

"It's going to look like this is the `Lost' producers' attempt to say, `Don't drive drunk!'" Lindelof said.

But they decided not to alter the plot line because everything that follows this season "all sort of falls from this event," said Cuse.

Well, I didn't expect Michael to do what he did! Did he "turn" to get Walt back, or now is he a "plant" to spy on the survivors? Is Lily really dead? I don't think the island can heal dead though!

That's likely. I just remember it was in the last half of the hour sometime. The only reason I noticed it was it was talking about "a better tomorrow" and my eyes unglazed long enough at hearing that to notice the Hanso thing. Why "a better tomorrow" caught my attention I have no idea. Since it was being DVR'd, I backed up and watched it again and it said in the bottom left corner "paid for by abc" or something similar.

I also read somewhere that the actress that plays Libby has a deal for a new show on CBS so maybe that played into the decision to get rid of her (if Libby is really dead).

I would love to know how Jack's father's supposed daughter is going to play into this too.

I have an alternate theory to the "drunk driving will get you written off the show" one: getting written off the show leads to drunk driving. Perhaps Michelle and Cynthia learned they were going to be leaving the show and decided to go out together and drown their sorrows. Remember, this is just a theory.

I loved the whole show. The Lost writers know how to throw great curve balls.

My hubby and I were talking about Michael "turning" just now. It does seem likely. First, it is too much of a coincidence that he shows up just as the Others were notified of the exchange of prisoners. Then, he told Ana Lucia the Others lived in tents and wore ragged clothing, but we know from a previous episode that's just a disguise. And finally, when he first woke up he told Jack and Locke that he wanted to rescue Walt when he got his strength back. But as soon as Ana Lucia shows up with a gun, he's got his energy and strength back.

Then again, why would he shoot himself to make it look like the Other prisoner did it and frame him for killing Ana Lucia and Libby? Of course I'm just assuming he's going to say the prisoner did it. We'll have to wait and see.

I feel so bad for Hurley. He's such a sweet guy. Unless of course, that's all in his head.

Jin's thumbs up was great, but my favorite scene was after Sawyer and Ana Lucia had sex. She's getting dressed and says, "If you tell anyone, I'll kill you." And Sawyer replies, "I guess this means cuddling is off the table." LOL
