The Shawshank Redemption. I would watch anything with Morgan Freeman, but this ranks up there as my favorite movie of all time.

"Army of Darkness". This cheese fest can still get laughing every time I watch it.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Terry, that's why it's hard to pick just one. CASABLANCA is a =perfect= film.

All time favorite movie? Easily "The Magnificent Seven", the Steve McQueen version, not the old samurai one. I tried the samurai version and just lost interest.

There's only one version of The Thing - John Carpenter's version. The original was called The Thing from Another World.

Unless you have some other movie in mind......?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Nope, that's the movie which I saw back in the '60's and which was called "The Thing" back then. It stars James Arness as the creature; Carpenter's movie was a remake of that. In my mind, there's always been 2 "The Thing" movies.
