Nope. Your comments were taken strictly as a personal critique and nothing more which is fine. I appreciate the fact you explained why.

Phew, that's good, Marc. I never knew the difference between a teaser and a trailer. Now I really want to see the trailer and can't wait for the full film. Cool

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

APhew Wrote:This isn't really a trailer, per se. It's called a "teaser". It's only meant to give you a glimpse of what you'll see in the finished product. The full trailer will probably come later and will deal more with actual plot and such.

As for the way it was cut, as you described in your first paragraph, it's merely glimpses of the set, cast, effects, etc... I thought it was done very effectively. I didn't feel any tension either, until right before the end when the camera pulls away from the door and you see the zombie outside that window. That was a good clincher.

Mike summed it up perfectly. Most "teasers" don't give ANYTHING away... they are there only to inform the audience that there is a movie by this name coming out sometime in the near (sometimes late) future and this is what it's going to look like.

As for the final trailer that will come out next year in February or March and someone else will be editing it. After three months of looking at this footage I'm not going to be in any mood to cut an actual trailer. At that time the audio will be 75% mixed, the picture will be color corrected and the person cutting the trailer will have a better understanding to how the picture is going to flow.

(And for the observant viewer you can find both Dave and me in the trailer.)

Forgive me if you have said already, are you trying to enter this into some film festivals? Which ones?

It's a bit tough to see you, Marc. But, I thought that was Dave at the 1:00 mark in the trailer as a single zombie in the shot. I'm guessing that might be you shambling up the stairs as another zombie, but I'm just not sure.

If you get it into a Chicago film festival, let me know so I can check it out.

[/QUOTE]In all seriousness, one can only hope that it gets picked up for distribution. I can't wait to see the final product.QUOTE]

So, are you saying you only want to hear good things about the teaser. Well, okay. This was the best teaser I've ever seen. There's a lot of money to be made here.

AC

P.S. I stand by what I said. Seriously. And stop being so overly protective of your friends. They can stand on their own two feet. And the movie, as the teaser, should speak for itself, which it didn't. It had to be explained to the posters who were in the dark, so to speak. Without the explanation about the teaser, it wouldn't stand on its own. But if you're happy with it, fine. That's all that matters. Who cares what movie-goers think?! Wait, I am a movie-goer. So my opinion just might matter to a serious film-maker. Just a thought.

P.S.S. But thanks for the laugh anyway. Now I'm off to sell my fpw collection on eBay.
