But if anyone saw PRIMER, what about Shane Carruth playing Jack?

Ah, Primer. Maybe you can make some sense of that movie for us. Maggers and I - and I believe everybody else - were a bit baffled with the who's-who-doing-what-and-when.

Indeed, Sam. What the heck did we see in that movie? I can't say that I disliked it, though I can't recommend it. Odd little movie. But I have no remembrance of the faces of the leads. They got as blurry in my mind as the plot. Big Grin

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Well- off the subject of who's play Jack- the movie Primier was a bit tough to get but basically- it was a vicious cycle where they, their persona was duplicated each time they went back in time. In then end- there were multiple duplicates of each other....that was why they were confused all the time....and why we were confused the whole time.

Now- as for all the names mentioned- Vigo, Ryan Reynolds...all are too striking in their features (Reynolds is over 6 feet)....need blandness.
Matt Damon mayvbe (maybe too short)

Who does FPW think should play?

I believe he was offered the role several years ago and turned it down. This was before The Bourne Supremacy. He had just done The Bourne Identity and did not want to get stuck doing another action film. He thought the role was too similar to Jason Bourne.

I wouldn't be against Marky Mark as RJ. He has a good look and has some star power. He'd need to drop that New England/thug accent though. He's an actor I've always liked, he just hasn't been very lucky when it comes to choosing roles. I liked his role in Three Kings and The Perfect Storm. Other than that, I've been a little dissapointed.

He was pretty crazy in the movie FEAR.
And you're right- his Boston accent needs to go.
But all in all- he would be a good fit...well, maybe too short.

I don't know if you saw that and if you are aware that Stacy and I had dinner with FPW that same night. Wink Sad

Ossicle Wrote:You're right, he does look good. At first I thought Viggo Mortensen could be really good, but didn't realize he's very tall. I guess that is a mark against him.

Viggo Mortensen is 5' 11" (according to his profile on imdb.com). That is the same height as Jack. So as far as height goes, Viggo is perfect. His face is very distinguished though, which isn't good for Everyman Jack. I like him for the part because he has a rugged persona, which I like in a hero character.

I do think Marky Mark would be better than most other suggestions I've heard. I also think Eric Bana would be good. It might save him from The Hulk debacle. That wasn't his fault, it was just the horrible screenplay. The best actors and the best directors couldn't have turned that into a good movie, I think.
