Hank Azaria is a great mimic but his Scots accent is a wee bit ropey - I love GKW but the voice isn't quite right but I suppose to all you Sassenachs over the pond you'll think it's just right in the same way that to Hollywood, everyone from England has a cockney accent like Spike in Buffy and Dick van Dyke in Mayree Pawpeens

Has anyone from outside Scotland tried Irvine Welsh? The stories are gut-wrenching, hilarious and tragic - sometimes all on the same page!!! The lingo is quite hard to penetrate as it's mostly written as it's said. I have a very broad Scots accent myself but still took a while to get my head round it but it's definitely worth the effort. Read Trainspotting then Glue then Porno as they're heavily interlinked

While I agree with all of you on CD's response time to scheduled books, I have to say that their quality of work is top notch. Only Borderlands Press does it better. While I like Barry Hoffman and have been a big Gauntlet supporter over the years, I have issues with the books he puts out, primarily the editing. I see more typos and missing words in Gauntlet titles than anywhere else. I don't know if this is from the copy editor or the type setter, but someone is dyslexic...

Well Steve, how about if you record your voice, save it as a zip file and attach it to a post. Then those of us from across the pond who think of Jimmy Doohan playing Commander Scott when we think of a Scots accent will have a better feel for it.

I must admit that Scots and Irish accents are the most charming I've ever heard. And Scottish and Irish beers are the best I've ever tasted. Mmmm--ye don't suppose there might be a connection, do ye?
