I found this article in Robert McCammon website. Frank Darabont intend to make a movie, McCammon's "MINE".

"I came close to getting MINE into production this year, but it was a near-miss. For those who may not know, getting a movie greenlit for production is like having the planets align---countless factors all have to come together at the right moment for anything to happen. I remain committed to making MINE, and am currently in a search for the actresses to play the lead roles of Laura and Mary. I'm hoping to get the movie before the cameras at some point in 2006, although it might be later that year rather than earlier. That's because circumstance and opportunity (the planets aligning) might dictate that I direct my adaptation of Stephen King's great horror novella, The Mist, first. If so, I will likely start shooting The Mist this coming December, '05."

Who will play Mary and Laura...? I guess......

Mary...Linda Hamilton
Laura...Nicole Kidman

Anyway, "Mine" is my favorite McCammon's book. I'm looking forward to movie version.

This is brilliant and awesome book. I assure you can't put away the book when you started reading it.

McCammon's work is excellent. I loved all his books, including Mine. My favorite though is "Boy's Life". I suspect that will end up in film format one day.

Yes, it's too bad he stopped writing for a while. Wolf's Hour remains one of my favorites. Heck, I even liked Gone South, and I treasure my inscribed copy of Swan Song. Have not yet read his latest novel, though.

I'd rather see them pull off "Boy's Life" myself.

Hmm......I guess everybody loves "Boy's Life". But my choice is "Mine". Story and concept is good for suspense movie.

I love all of his stuff!!! I like your choices for Mary Terror and Laura. A younger Katie Bates could also be Mary Terror; she was so awesome in "Misery". How about Steve Buscemi for Mark Treggs?

The Mist! Woohoo! My favourite piece of Stephen King fiction, and done by the only man who adapts King well (The Shining is contentious).

I'm hyped about this one.

Dave

PS Mine? Smile
