The First Rule of the Elite Squad is don't talk about the Elite Squad.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Susan

No Lieutenants in squads. How 'bout PFC?

And if Lisa's a Sargent, doesn't that automatically make you Co-Sargent? Big Grin

Wonder what happens if -- upon first meeting -- a PFC hugs his Co-Sargents and Corporal. (Hmmmm, gonna haf ta look that up in The Uniform Code of Military Justice.)

Maggers Wrote:Oooh Lisa...er...Sergeant Krause, I'm all atwitter and aflutter at the thought of being a bona fide member of the ELITE squad. But I think your rank should be higher than a sergeant!

Sargents are the back-bone of the Army. And the Marines come to think of it.

Keith the Elder Wrote:You'd have to be a Fleet Admiral, that's the equivalent to a general

Actually, it's equivalent to General of the ARMY. Which is sort of equivalent to Comandant of the Marine Corps.

Comparing ranks between Army and Navy Officers:

Army in red, Navy in blue:

Fleet Admiral
General of the Army

Admiral
General

Vice Admiral
Lieutenant General

Rear Admiral
Major General

Commodore(rank reintroduced 1943)
Brigadier General

Captain
Colonel

Commander
Lieutenant Colonel

Lieutenant Commander
Major

Lieutenant
Captain

Lieutenant Junior Grade
First Lieutenant

Ensign
Second Lieutenant

IIRC, the Navy equivalent of Sargent is Petty Officer, and there ain't nothin' petty 'bout the Co-Sargents. Big Grin

Ken - one of the girls .... ROFL!

The title list was very helpful. I think we should be able to pick ranks for absolutely no reason at all or perhaps because they sound good. Like Major Maggers. I like that. Sounds like a case of absolute madness. Big Grin

Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

I meant the Chief and officer uniforms.

I hated that stupid "crackerjack" uniform so badly that I busted my butt to make Chief just to not have to wear it. The only ones to wear that outfit should be (in this order) 6 year old boys with a balloon or ice cream cone, the chouus of "South Pacific" and cartoon characters.

One of the saddest sights is a 48 year old reserve first class petty officer dressed like that. Truely heartbreaking
