Has anyone seen this movie?

I saw this movie in thearer, and this evening I saw it on DVD. This is wonderful and touching movie. Directed and written by Sofia Coppola. Performed by Bill Burray and Scarlett Johansson. And most important factor is location.

Tokyo! Cool

Yes, Tokyo. Location is a lot of crowded cities in Tokyo. Shibuya, Akihabara, Shinjuku, Odaiba......I know those cities, of course. But from a foreigner's point of view, it look like different cities. That's awesome and amazing.

Bill Murray as Bob Harris. Bob Harris is movie star, and he visit to Tokyo for take a TV-CM. But he is mid-life crisis, and his actor life is crisis too. Scarlett Johansson as Cherlotte. Cherlotte is photographer's wife. She visit to Tokyo with husband, but she is always alone in hotel's room. When Bob met Cherlotte.......do you know what happen? Wink

No CG, no big star, no hard action. But I like this movie. It make me comfortable and agreeable. That reason is very simple. There is only man and woman's ties.

Next is my favorite scene.

Premium Fantasy woman: Mr. Kazu sent me, premium fantasy. My stockings. Rip them.

[sounds like "lip them"]

Premium Fantasy woman: Rip my stockings. Yes, please, rip them.

Bob: What?

Premium Fantasy woman: Rip them. HEY! Rip my stocking!

Bob: Hey? Lip them? Lip them? What?

[rolling around on the floor, waving her legs in the air]

Premium Fantasy woman: Oh Mr. Harris! Don't touch me! Mr. Bob Harris! Just rip my stocking!

Hehehe.....you understood what is funny? :p

Anyway, I recommend this movie for all people. Smile

Kenji,
Yes! I saw this movie twice in the theater! I saw it, loved it, and went back and to see it again another day. Then I bought the CD when it came out.

I LOVED IT! It's on my list of top 10 films, and I think it's the best movie of 2003, smartly written by Sophia Coppola, beautifully photographed, and amazingly directed by Sophia Coppola. Did I tell you that I LOVED IT!

I so want to go to Tokyo, and especially after seeing "Lost In Translation."

Bill Murray was fantastic and I think he should have gotten the Oscar last year.

You're right, Kenji, it is a touching, moving film. I loved the relationship between the two leads and watching it unfold. And the scene you described was hysterical!

This movie will resonate with anyone who has felt alienated or like a fish out of water, for any reason.

So far as I am concerned, it's a perfect film.

I saw this about 3 months ago or so on DVD. It took me a few times to actually rent, I had heard nothing about it in reviews. I liked it, not a bad movie at all.

My son loves that movie. He's been to Japan and will be studying there next Fall. I've only seen bits and pieces, but what I saw I really liked.

"R" and "L" difference were very funny. Sometimes I mistake about it. :p

I agree. Human can't live without other people, after all. Bob Harris and Cherlotte, they were lonely. So,they were drawn to each other.

So far as I am concerned, it's a perfect film.

A very good, moving film. I loved it. It's "Up there."

My mistake, Kenji, I meant to say that I bought the movie, on DVD. I think I'm gonna watch it tonight, after I finish "Alien" for the millionth time. (Everyone in "Alien" looks so YOUNG! It was made 25 years ago!!)

DVD? That's nice!

Is it special features(interviews, documentary, making, deleted scenes) are included? After I saw this DVD, I also saw documentary. That was very funny! Big Grin

In movie's history, Alien is one of masterpiece horror movies. I know the last scene, but even if I saw it many times, I always jump up from seat.

This is one of the few DVD's I've bought without seeing the film first. I really enjoyed it and thought it was one of the best movies I'd seen all year.

Always Play the Max!
