Comments: Still not great. I think the problem lies in the fact that "WWJD?" doesn't really have enough characters to nicely span the space.

As suggested by webby, with periods closer to letters:

Comments: Periods not as close to letters as I'd like. My kerning skillz are not that mad.
I actually like the second one better - with the closer periods. I'm not trying to be a pain, but you might try it with the picture off-center. I wonder if the pic in the center makes the mind demand a symmetry to the letters which can't be acheived.

Just ideas. Don't feel obligated to post every revision......

Thanks for your efforts, though,

Jim

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I like it the second way.

GREAT idea for a mug and for a T shirt. I'm buying! When's it gonna be ready? I know, I know, it's just an idea for now, but it's a good one. Big Grin

I recommend pleasant.

I like the second one too. I would buy that on a mug but also on a t-shirt!

It doesn't have to take up the entire space. The most important thing is for it to be centered.

With that in mind; if, on the W's, the period was centered directly under the far-right part of the letter, (the point of the "flange" on the top of the W) and the other periods brought proportionately closer to their respective letters; the letters themselves brought closer together, and the question mark placed so that the farthest left of the curve was directly over the farthest right point of the period, it might look better.

For my taste, you could also place the question mark after "DO" closer, and re-center the entire phrase WHAT WOULD JACK DO? (notice how close the letters and punctuation are right there?) over the www.repairmanjack.com.

Then -- if I may also suggest -- bring the W.W.J.D.? script close enough together that you can draw (or almost draw) an imaginary line from the upper-outer corners of www.repairmanjack.com to the widest part of the circle containing the Jack Image, and have the upper two lines of script contained (or almost contained) within those two diagonal lines.

Sort of like a pyramid of script with Jack at the top.

On the whole however, I have to say that it's an inspired design . . . BEAUTIFUL!

Just a suggestion / trick I've used when kerning isn't getting it: seperate each letter and each period onto its own layer. Then you can move them around willy-nilly! Big Grin

Well, since I was basing my design on the motif created by these covers:

...I'd figure I should spread the text across the width of the space.

But the triangle idea has possibilities...

Now I see what you're doing. And understand why you're doing it that way.

The periods could be a little farther to the left, but yeah, that's what I had in mind.

What do the Ladies think?

(I find that women are always better judges of this sort of thing than men.)

I think it looks much better.

P.S. Either way, it's a great design.
