As for a non-black design, I'm thinking about that and what adjustments might/would be needed for a white or off-white background. Stay tuned?

Hi Dejo,

Your designs are awesome!

I've been out of town and nursing 3 sick cats, so I'm a bit out of the loop.

I'd love to do a super cool black WWRJD tee. But first, a reality check.
  1. Black tees at Cafe Press are still in "beta". I bought a black t-shirt design in February and it was so bad, I got my money back.
  2. You've borrowed *coughs* a design element from a book cover. That is a no-no unless the publisher okays it. Getting a publisher's permission is usually a pain in the butt. I'm not sure Paul would want to get involved in that. Now if we can get a royalty/copyright free picture of our own to use instead, then we're fine.
  3. Was your design created at 300 dpi? Because if it wasn't, it will not print correctly. But I can create a design at 300 dpi that looks like your design.
I say if you all really want a black tee (remember none have looked good so far) I'd be glad to do it. I'll just find a free pic to insert in the circle and I'll create the rest from scratch to look like Dejo's design. I'll fix the letter spacing, etc. I can do it, I have the technology!

I'm swamped right now, but I could get to it in a week or two.

Quote:Hi Albert,

Sorry for not getting back with you sooner. I was out of town.

Here's the problem with the mug. Because the RJ store is a free store, we can only do one of each product and right now the Isher Sports design is on the large mug.

If you are still interested, I can temporarily make a large RJ mug and then switch it back to Isher after you buy it. Just let me know.

Susan

Susan,

That would be FANTASTIC! I may go ahead and buy two so I'll have a backup. I'll check the forum and the Repairman Jack store frequently to see when it's set so you won't have to keep it out there long. I really do appreciate you're doing this for me.

Thanks again

How are the cats now? Better I hope.

Okay, I'm sitting down.

Hmm, this sucks. Maybe be best to hold off until their black tees move out of beta.

Yeah, I figured this would be an issue. Since I scanned right from the cover for a quicker starting point, I figured that it would be good for discussion but not for actual use. Perhaps we could replace the RJ silhouette with the "three slashes"? What about the overall design style? Are we okay borrowing that? Especially if you recreate the entire thing fresh?

Yes, my base Photoshop file is at 300dpi. I've just scaled down these mockups for easier browser display.

If everybody really wants black tees, maybe just let them know about the problems and caveat emptor. As for creating from scratch, let me know if you want my Photoshop file for reference or anything. I suspect your skillz are mad enough that that won't be necessary but I thought I'd offer.

I'm in no rush but I can't speak for the others. Wink

Query: What about setting up another CafePress store carrying just WWRJD items?

Thanks for asking. One is fully recovered and the other two are recovering now. They should be fine, I just hate to see them wheezing and sneezing all day.

I got mad skillz, baby! If we are going to change the silhouette graphic, then I will start from scratch. No biggie.

We could do that, but we still need 2 big questions answered: Does Paul approve and does everyone want to risk the black tees?

I just placed my order for a couple - just in case I have butter-fingers again.

Thanks so much, Susan!

I have too many tees. I want a black coffee mug. Do they have those? Actually, I have too many coffee mugs, too, but oh well.Wink
