Hey, Mike, how's the writing going? Could you take a minute to let us know what you're working on and if we may see it soon on the web?
Hey Steve.
Things have been pretty productive lately. My latest output is my
poem "Cannoneer" which will be published in the December 2005
print issue of Paradox Magazine, my poem "Annalee" in the next
issue of Kenoma Magazine, and my short story "Sleepwalkers" in
the present contest section of Anotherealm.com.
Also, I just finished a 5,000-word short story titled "The Cerebral-Man"
for submission to Subterranean Magazine, for their special 2006 issue
on Science Fiction Cliches. This one was very tongue-in-cheek and a
lot of fun to write. I hope it gets accepted. Please wish me luck.
Otherwise, I've spent the last seven to eight months overseeing the
writing of a shared-universe novel containing the work of 17 writers
including myself. I'm just about finished with the second edit, and
it is totalling out at around 250,000+ words, and by necessity will now
be split into two books before I start pitching it to agents and
publishing houses in October.
The two volumes will be titled "Sha'Daa: Tales of the Apocalypse"
and "Sha'Daa II: Beachheads."
I won't go into plot details here, but while I consider it an original
concept, Sha'Daa was definitely inspired by Paul's "Nightworld,"
a true classic among classics.
Cheers,
Mike
