What the sweet jesus happened here? LOL
So, something pretty cool happened today at work.
My boss and his boss asked me to join them on a "walk"...and I thought that I was on my way to HR as I have a tendency to just blurt out whatever is on my mind. I am what one would call an HR Nightmare.
We ended up outside at the smokers bay and My boss and his boss simply thanked me for doing an awesome job. They said a lot of kind things and said that HR be damned, they wish they had a team full of workers like me.
They then gave me a $100.00 Amex gift card.
I just simply did my job and I got accolades for it.
Many of you know that a few years ago I worked for an employer in which the environment became toxic. I was harrassed, bullied, and belittled by that employer and it took a long time for me to get over that.
This simple act of appreciation is odd for me to comprehend, but it sure felt nice. It lets me know that I am in the right place.
