So far, I really like the guy. I just wish I'd read the comics so I'd know what others know. Then again, the blind ride is fun too. I'm so torn....Cool

I've never read the comics either so everything on the show is a surprise to me.

I've slowly been making my way through the comics and I'm around the same area that season 3 is happening. It's one of those instances where it's the same but different. Who gets bit, who loses a leg, it's all there but happens to different people. It's fun to watch for the differences.

So far, my only "eh" feeling about season 3 is the governor. He's not nearly as menacing as he is in the comics.

Did he make up for it tonight? There was a bit of misdirection early in the show but it ended with him solidly attacking the prison.

I'm behind since it came back. I'm hoping to catch up towards the end of the week. I can give you my assessment then if you like.

Trust me, his actions in tonight's episode pale in comparison to what he does in the graphic novels. I like that they are creating this conflict between the camps of survivors but the last episode kind of pissed me off and was a bit of a shark jump for me. They knew the governor and his people would be coming for them, they knew. And yet they all wandered around in their soap opera misery and allowed their tower to be taken and a group to sneak up on them in a freaking truck IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! And the gun battle was silly. I do still really like a lot of the story lines and the characters but man, I was greatly disappointed in that episode.

So am I the only one who has read The Rise Of The Governor? It is the novel that tells how he ended up as The Governor. I have read the first couple of trades and watched the first season and half of the second one but decided that it was too much zombie for me. I think they're both well made but i'm just not that into zombies. I did like the novel however. I probably wouldn't have read it if it wasn't co-authored by Jay Bonansinga( Kirkman is the other author). And the second novel, The Road To Woodbury is available now.

Thanks, Scott. I'll add the second book to my reading list. I didn't know it was out.

Sunday's episode felt like filler or something. I don't know. At some point, I kind of got bored and started playing a game on my phone. I can understand why the governor was watered down a bit. I have no interest in seeing some of the crap from the books acted out. I'd guess that if this were a movie instead of a show on TV, the governor wouldn't have been watered down.

I'm hoping the next couple of episodes get back on track. The season started out well enough.

ETA: I have read Rise of the Governor and am planning to get the next book soon.

Why do I always do this to myself???

I was happy to see an episode without the Govenor and Andrea.

Rick finding Morgan...I think that's his name.....a year later...how weird is that? So sad about his son though.
Rats in cages on skateboards! I laughed at that one.
And what about that hitchhiker? Walking....with all the cars available? At first I thought he was a lure for an ambush for anyone coming along. Then when I saw him the second time....I wondered if he was cast out from some where. The last scene was great. Parts of hitchhiker and a pack scatterd about....and then Carl reaches out and takes his pack as they drive by. It says alot about how tough and hardened they all have become.
