I know it's not going to happen but I began wondering about this. What would it have been? An hour long show with twelve to twenty episodes a season or was it going to be a miniseries? If it was going to go on for multiple seasons how would the episodes have been set up? Alan has to decide whether or not to save someone's life at the cost of his mental facilities?

I still think this would be a great idea for an ongoing series. Some details would have to be changed, much like The Dead Zone.

That would make for a great HBO series.

I have to agree too (we don't get HBO in the UK, but a lot of the digital channels over here show HBO series). A film would not be able to do the book and story justice, whereas if it was a prolonged mini-series or a set of 12-20 hour long episodes it would be fantastic. You need the over riding story arcs to be carried through the series imo.
