Go figure. :out:I enjoyed the novel The Bourne Identity, and when I saw the Matt Damon version, I thought it stunk.

Which can never be underestimated when considering the financial outlook for any film.In my view, this is what happens when toothpaste company executives get hired to manage movie production companies.
And yes it is true that Jack be perceived to be more a Jason Bourne type than a Bond figure. Those of us who have read Jack realize he is neither but in Hollywood original stories must fit into predetermined demographics.
Damon finished the Bourne films he was contracted in doing and now like Lara Croft the character is being rebooted or reimagined with others in the lead roles.
Franchise characters are driving Hollywood and the possibility must be considered for expansion into other entertainment areas.

If you liked the novel see the original 1988 mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain.

The Matt Damon version was related to the Robert Ludlum novel even less than the Michael Mann movie was to FPW's THE KEEP.
