First of all, let me say that I was disappointed with this movie, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. It was unintentionally funny. Outrageously so. If John Waters redid Species without the gore and killings, he'd have made Splice. Here's what you can expect: beastiality, incest, rape, child abuse, and transgenderism. Of course, this is all played against the allegorical story of raising a child, in the same way that David Lynch's Eraserhead was about raising a child. So, forget your notions of seeing a scare-fest and perhaps wait for the rental. Not quite the level of Plan Nine from Outer Space, but almost as funny.

AC

P.S. I felt so icky after the movie, I had to take a shower.

Saw Splice - a friend had mentioned that it wasn't scary so I didn't go expecting to be scared. I'd probably recommend it as a rental, since movie tickets are stupidly high.

And yeah...there is a certain ick-factor to the film.

Why do I always do this to myself???
