While we're riffin.... Julio, his regular gunee customers, and a couple of yuppies fend off the Night Creature assault on the bar. This story haunted me for months until I wrote the damn thing. It'll never see the light of day, so to speak, but I had to tell the story of Julio's last stand (without Jack). Then I deleted the story. It exists only in my head now for my personal amusement.

It was also the title of a pretty good Kirk Douglas movie from 1980. The USS Nimitz gets caught in a time-warp and winds up off Pearl Harbor on the morning of 12/7/41. "There are 23 ships in that attack force," says Douglas as the Admiral. "We are going to sink every one of them" I believe Martin Caidin did the novelization.
