Wapitikev Wrote:Not a bad thought. I've said before that I enjoy nearly every one of Guzman's roles...I'm not sure if he's physically imposing enough to be Julio, however.

I prefer mr_telephone_man's recomendation of Amaury Nolasco.

He's not overly tall at 5' 10.5" but he can be menacing like Johnny Trejo (who would be great but is too old for the part):

Why limit ourselves to contemporary actors?
JACK--Errol Flynn
GIA--Errol Flynn in drag
VICKY--Shirley Temple
ABE--Oliver Hardy
RASALOM--Buster Keaton

Now, =that's= a cast!

Maybe ol'Ras can make them rise from their graves for the entire shoot.

It would be an easy way to stay (six feet) under budget.

Dave (Day-ve) and I have had this debate before, but how can this NOT be Gia at the "UK Mission to the UN" party?

'nuff said.

(I was looking up the name Elizabeth on IMDB and this picutre came up next to her entry. Apparently her middle name is Elizabeth)

Ray Wise is a very good idea for Rasalom. Wink

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

I hate coppers.

My account got messed up so I upgraded myself. I think that Ryan Reynolds will be a perfect jack. He shows vulneribility as well as strength in smokin aces. He shows rage and that dark part of jack in amityville horror. I would love to see john mctiernan, Sam raimi, or peter berg direct Orr hell how bout scorscese? I think Elizabeth banks would make a great gia with abigail Breslin as vicks. I think the guy that plays mohinder suresh on heroes is kusum. I saw brenden Fraser mentioned earlier I think u could bring him in to play the male westphalen that brought along the curse. Abe seems to be the toughest to cast. Even though he's dead I think john candy would be perfect but can't really cast him. So how bout travolta in a fat suit I'm jokin unless u like the idea. Robbie Coltrane I can't see him doing it. I have never been able to picture anyone other than candy as abe but I forget his name but either the guy that played jeff goldblums dad in independence day or a fat alan Alda. Oh and andy serkis as scarface. But other then that it's good to be back.

Welcome back, Irish.

Kenji will love ya for mentioning McTiernan (his fave choice). Not a huge Berg fan but I'd rather see him do it that that hack, Raimi. If I had to choose from those three I'd take McTiernan.

Elizabeth banks would be ok for Gia, but I have favourite choices before her, as well.

Breslin is too old for Vicks. An unknown 8 year old would be better than a 12 year old trying to be 8.

Sendhil Ramamurthy (from Heroes) is my choice, as well, for Kussum Bahkti.

Aishwarya Rai was Noelie's choice for Kolabati...she'd be awesome playing opposite Sendhil.

Brendan Faser as Sir Albert Wetphalen...hmm...he could be ok...although I've never seen him do a british accent. I was thinking somone more along the lines of a pompous windbag like David Morrissey.

As a fellow Canadian, I would have been clamouring for John Candy...he is sorely missed. Robbie Coltrane, in the movie Let It Ride is the penultimate Abe. Judd Hirsch would be AMAZING but is no where near Abe's age in the books (he's 74 this year). I never liked Alan Alda, but that's just me.

Andy Serkis would be great as Scarlip.

48 years old. Jack is around 33. 'nuf said.

Quote:Julio: Tom Savini (Sex Machine in From Dusk Till Dawn)
63 years old. I believe Julio to be considerably younger than that.

Quote:Abe: Eugene Levy in fat prosthetics (Jim's Dad in American Pie)
Also 63 years old. Remember, Abe has a daughter that is college-aged (somewhere in her 20s)...so, while he could be in his 60s, he's probably more like 50-55. I love my fellow hosers but Eugene's a little to experienced for that part...even Robbie Coltrane (59 this year) and Robin Williams (58 this year) are getting a little too ripe.

Quote:Gia: Nicole de Boer (Sarah Bracknell Bannerman in Dead Zone tv show)
As above, I love my fellow Canucks...heck, Ryan Reynolds is even one...but at 38, Nicole's 7-10 years too old to play Gia.

Quote:Vicky: Rhiannon Leigh Wryn (the little girl in The Last Mimzy)
Awesome choice! She just turned 9 and would be great as an 8-year old Vicks.

Quote:Rasalom: Ray Wise (The Devil in Reaper)
Ray would be a great Rasalom...if he was 30 years younger...Rasalom's current incarnation was born about 9 months before Jack...so having someone that is 62 years old play him seems to bend the limits of continuity beyond the breaking point.

The perfect Rasalom would be someone more like Zachary Quinto (Syler) from heroes...someone who is almost mid-30s but can play the devil believably.

In fact, Quinto will be 32 in June and Reynolds will be 33 in October.
