Everyone should see the BBC/A&E
Pride & Prejudice mini-series, IMO. Most excellent. The recent version with Keira Knightley is also very good, given that it plays like a Cliff's Notes version of the story. I think it helps tremendously to have seen the mini-series or read the book first, though, because some aspects of the story get short shrift in the new one.
I agree with some of those movies that have been mentioned (
Jaws,
Jurassic Park,
LOTR, among others), and will add the following:
Somewhere in Time and
Field of Dreams.
