Biggles Wrote:Do you remember "Doctor in the House"? It was played on the local PBS station when I was either in law school or a senior at university. St. Swithins and all that. It was hilarious. Would love to find it on DVD or VHS for my telly.
Do you remember the "Carry On" series of British comedies? They started around 1958 and continued until 1975.
Carry on Nurse, Carry on Doctor, Carry on Sargent, Carry on Cowboy, and so on.
Outrageously funny, I remember the scene in Carry on Nurse where a nurse, frustrated by an unruly patient, came into the room to take his temperature . . . rectally. She left the patient and also left the door to his room open. She was gone for a long time. People passed by, stared at him, and hurriedly left. In frustration, the patient finally shouted to one passerby, "Haven't you ever seen somebody having their temperature taken before?!" The observer answered, "Yes, but not with a daffodil."
