I saw a trailer for this movie a while ago, and whilst I was aware of the comic I had never read it so I thought the film would be worth a watch. Looks like cartoon/comic book ultraviolence a la Matrix or Shoot 'em Up.

Then I heard who was directing it - Timur Bekmambetov, the mad russian behind the promising but flawed confusion-festivals Nightwatch and Daywatch. So I got a little less interested.

Then I saw these clips ---- and I got really excited! Can't wait to see this in the cinema soon!!

I just hope the best bits havent been given away by the trailer, as is the case with most movies like this

I accidentally dropped a load of worthless change in the street. I was going to just leave it there but a burly policeman lumbered towards me and said, "You'd better pick that up, son."

Believe me, read the comic and this movie will look terrible. They stripped out a major element for the movie leaving just a shell of a story and the characters names.

I read somewhere (i think Aint It Cool News) there is a big reason for the story differences - the movie was based off of the original Idea for the comic - when they accually started makeing the comics the story got changed but for some reason they had to stay with the original Idea for the movie

Just as you should not judge a book by it's cover, nor should you judge a movie by its Bekmambetov.

I saw Wanted last night and it was entertaining and spectacular-looking, but it never quite found the right tongue-in-cheek groove like the better Shoot 'Em Up did. It took itself much too seriously and the violence was pretty hard core while the abilities of the assassins made it wholly unbelievable. Definitely not a movie for everyone, but worth checking out if you enjoy wild over-the-top action.

I would pay to see Angelina Jolie do her taxes.

Today I saw WANTED after I saw NIM'S ISLAND. I enjoyed ridiculous action scenes. But story was totally mess.

Only one good element was Angelina Jolie. Her tattooed body was hot! Big Grin

The action scenes were good but I think they pushed the superhuman bullet curving thing a bit too far ---- it was cool when it was a subtle curve, but as the film went on they managed to get bullets to do some bizarre and stooopid things.

Also, the bit with the rats pissed me off. Having kept rats for several years now, I know first hand how wily and intelligent they are. The thought that they would chomp along the peanut butter and fall into a lorry was stoooooopid.

Glad I watched it online, and didnt even pay for it. Wink
