If I didn't know any better, I'd say this movie was the origin of Ant-Man (Henry Pym); but it isn't. Still, it is a great story. I'd just finished doing some research on ants and saw this movie a few days later. It helped to understand some of the jokes; the nod to the movie "Them" did not go unnoticed either.
A few spoilers/favorite scenes:
1) The wasp invasion against the ant colony.
2) The frog attack (from an ant's point of view, this is real monster stuff).
3) The final battle between the wasp/ant alliance and the Exterminator (voiced by Paul Giamatti).
Kids and adults will love this flick. Both were laughing in equal doses at the viewing I saw last night. This is a dvd keeper.

P.S. Don't let the poor ticket sales fool you--this movie is better than most of the current/recent animation fare; liked it even more than "Chicken Little," which I liked alot!
