For everyone who hates Uwe Boll as much as me:

German horror director Uwe Boll is so fed up with receiving bad reviews from movie critics he is challenging his detractors to a filmed fight. Boll, whose movies Alone In The Dark and House Of The Dead are based on video games, says he will fly his critics to meet him and will then fight them in a boxing ring. The filmmaker is incensed by an online petition which has 13,327 signatures of people asking him to stop making movies. Boll, who has also invited Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino to join his fight, plans to air the fights on the internet. He the plans to edit clips into his latest film Postal. Boll says, "I'm fed up with people slamming my films without seeing them. Many journalists make value judgments on my films based on the opinions of one or two thousand internet voices. Half of those opinions come from people who've never watched my films. If critics want to bring Uwe Boll down, here is their chance to physically bring him down and have the entire world watch them do it."

I've never seen any of his films, but if he's the kind of individual who thinks that a fist fight will solve his problems, then he's probably every bit as bad a director as it is claimed he is.

On the other hand, it's silly to petition him not to make any more films. If people don't like them, all they have to do is not pay money to watch them. If nobody watches his films he will slink away all by himself.

I saw "Alone in the Dark" and "Bloodrayne". Both movies were excellent............NOT! Big Grin

In "Bloodrayne", they used great actors and actresses, but script was too terrible. "Alone in the Dark" is.......well, I should forget that crap, shouldn't I? Rolleyes

I won't see Uwe Boll's films anymore.

House of the Dead
BloodRayne
Alone in the Dark
and now the new Dungeon Seige movie.

This is the go to guy when one wants a video game turned into a shitty movie. House of the Dead was so horrible that Uwe actually inserted fottage from the game into the movie. I will gladly throw a punch at him, I need to google directions to his boxing ring.

My wife and I were looking forward to House of the Dead and when we rented it (because it strangely evaporated from theaters without notice) we were instantly put off by the opening credits having inserts from the video game. I think this was the first movie I ever rented that I couldn't watch all of. And I've seen a lot of bad movies so this was an exceptional movie in the awful department. It's a shame because I liked the game Bloodrayne. I'll catch it on HBO or something so my wallet won't ache while I watch it.

Well what do you expect? These are film critics we are talking about. Now to make it fair he should let pissed off fans get into the ring with him. Not the pissed off fans who don't want him to make movies anymore, the pissed off fans who liked one of the games he made into a movie and made the huge mistake of paying to see his horrible horrible movies. (just an example...I mean I know this guy who did this...yeah a friend of a friend um who...meh nevermind).
